Foreign Affairs CS Monica Juma held talks with a top American government official in Washington on Thursday ahead of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s visit to the U.S.

A tweet from the State Department said Secretary of State Michael Richard Pompeo welcomed Juma on Thursday afternoon.

“Live now! @SecPompeo meets with welcomes #Kenya’s net Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Trade Monica Juma at the State Department,” the State Department said on Twitter.

A 36-second video accompanying the tweet showed Monica Juma and Pompeo greeting each other after the meeting on Thursday.
