The Switzerland international has flattered to deceive following his £35million move from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer of 2016 and appears to be facing an uncertain future under Arsene Wenger’s successor. Xhaka was named as one of Emery’s five captains ahead of the new season but he was hauled off at half time during last weekend’s defeat at Chelsea, replaced by headline summer recruit Lucas Torreira. With fellow new-boy, Matteo Guendouzi, also impressing at the heart of Arsenal’s engine room, Arsenal Invincible Parlour feels it’s now or never for Xhaka. ‘Xhaka looked to have a good World Cup, so it’s hard to say what’s wrong with him now,’ said Parlour.
